How is Slangbusters different than other branding studios?

Because if we were the same, branding is one thing we shouldn't do. Civilization is evolving, people of the Indus valley civilization start  identifying their livestock and cattle through marks they put on them with burning metal. They brand them. The etymology of 'brand' lies in  'brand,'  an Old Norse word which has been a concept for 4000 years now. Of course, branding as a process has evolved into an intricate art that involves multiple other processes but at the core, it still remains the ownership of representation of what you do. It has evolved from branding products with a hot iron to brand the idea behind what you do. This is not news to most (at least within the industry). As the industry took form, many became a part- as professionals who devised their own methodologies and processes to become the cornerstones for the industry. Branding was not the only industry flourishing. In fact, with other industries flourishing a...

Trends vs Timelessness- where does your brand stand?

An ode to the basic component of good brands. A traditional three-piece suit will not fail to make you look good whereas an oversized tee from the hypebeast trend might or might not suit you. Does that mean, following traditions is the only foolproof approach to unfailing success? Agreeing would be dichotomous. The world is not black and white. Let's explore everything in between. It was less complex- one could look at different aspects of total isolation. But today, the intensity of the overlaps has made it next to impossible to study something absolutely. The world has become a small town with global access to information along with products and services. Data itself has become a commodity more valuable than...

Is generic packaging the new brand?

It is generally accepted by many that “a brand name does not guarantee a quality product” which is true to an extent, so the only competing factors that count are functionality and pricing. Most businesses could end up investing a significant part of their revenue on marketing and sales, which eventually has to be recovered from the consumer’s pocket. All the capital which goes into making a product stand out from its competition (without adding to its functionality) is needless expenditure for the consumer. When buying a pen for a day to day scenario, the quality of writing is the most important factor that comes after pricing and not the distinguishable colors on its body or a premium package design since the cost of the packaging will also be accounted for the increase in the retail price of the product but without adding to the functionality at all. A generic product is one that does not represent a distinguished brand, the point of this product is to function effect...
